Sheep vs. Asleep

Forget the conspiracy theories, they really don't matter one way or another.

Fact: The elites are going to do what they want to do and it isn't good for the rest of us.
Fact: The government wants to control the people.

Let's start with the control thing.
It isn't a secret that the government is giving their all to disarm the American people. The question is why? That is where the conspiracy theories come into play. It doesn't matter if you believe in them or not. The government needs to disarm the people because the people still have the power. (The fact they all too often choose not to use their power is a different story.) The people have the power because they are armed. That simple fact scares the elites. Now, if the government was on the up and up, why would they care if the people have the power? Why would they care if the people are armed? The answer is simple: They wouldn't! So that is why the conspiracies don't matter. I don't really need the details, the government has their own agenda (with or without the U.N.) and their agenda is not good for the people, that is why the need our guns. I have researched gun control and the right to bear arms and crime for years.

Fact: Gun control increases crime.
If you don't believe me, check out the F.B.I. website on crime statistics, or the Department of Justice crime statistics.

Based on those facts, there is only one logical conclusion. The government doesn't care about crime rates, they are not imposing gun bans, gun registration, fingerprinting, gun free zones, etc. because of crimes, they need these things because they need control. We all know gun control isn't about guns, it is about control. This isn't even a far fetched idea, the Founding Fathers of the United States knew this! THAT is why we have the Second Amendment. It isn't for hunting, it isn't even for self defense, those are fringe benefits. The Second Amendment is there to ensure the people have control over the government. Period.

As conditions continue to deteriorate, I do believe more people will wake up. However, I can see the other side of things, the side the government uses to their advantage. Remember, these people are professionals. Let's be honest, the average citizen has very little understanding of the economy. Generally speaking, the younger, the dumber. People who have never worked in business or finance also tend to lack understanding. So here's the situation, the economy is in shambles, and unemployment is high and getting worse. If the government "helps" people who are struggling with hand-outs, those people are grateful. They are now able to put food on the table for their families. They don't have a clear understanding of the economy or the long term cost of these things, their only worry is providing for their families. This is the people that are "on the fence" or people that are just having a hard time. I'm not talking about the millions that abuse the system. I am talking about average, overall good Americans. These people want to work, the jobs just aren't there. There are too many people who know the economy is bad but they don't have the knowledge to understand WHY. THESE are the people we need to reach out to. These are the people who will open their eyes if we can educate them. These are the people that will help us get our country back. These are freedom loving Americans like us, they are just misguided, they don't know any better, so let's show them the light!  Not all the people are sheep, some are just asleep.

Also, I want to clarify that there is a difference between the average state politician and the elite of the elite on the federal level. Not every person in congress or in the White House is part of the elite. That is why they never get 100% of the vote for things that are bad for the people. We need to identify the ranks of ALL of them on both sides of the fence...

Happenings

Just wanted to give some updates...

We are getting it from all sides! Now even Facebook is apparently against freedom. What is this country coming to?

IF RedneckRWAR goes away on Facebook, it will not be the end, at least not for me. I will keep my personal page open temporarily while I decide on the next step. I may continue to create proFREEDOM pages or I may go another route... In the meantime, I will continue to promote my beliefs in the Constitution of the United States and the freedom that comes with it.

I have found that www.teapartycommunity is an excellent supplement and possible alternative... There is a group of us there that have created "Think Tank" pages where we are brainstorming ideas on how to get our country back, topic by topic.

I refuse to give up. We are facing the fight of our lives regarding our Constitution and the biggest threat to that is the current attack on our Second Amendment. I will NOT go down without giving it my all. That is more than a promise, that is my duty as an American. We are also staring directly at a complete economic collapse. I do not have all the answers but it isn't for lack of trying. The answers will come if we know where to look.

I DO know that the key to getting our country back is to unite, as one nation, under God, indivisible.

What is wrong with our country? Hmmm...

I have so much to do this week I feel like my head is going to have a complete melt down but I need to vent.

What is wrong with our country?! Seriously! Well, let's see...

GOVERNMENT
The biggest problem is that the "people" have given the power to the government. Politicians are not smarter than the average American, they are not better than us, so why do they get put on a pedal-stool? They DO NOT care about us! If they did, why would they pass laws that they are exempt from? Think about it!

PRIORITIES
They banned large cokes!? WTF is that? Ok, now I will buy 2 medium cokes... yeah, that sure was effective! THAT is why I do not live in New York. I have spoken my peace about abortion, but LARGE COKES are illegal while abortion isn't? I can't even wrap my brain around that one...

SPECIAL INTEREST GROUPS
Why do they have so much say? Oh, you poor baby, you're an atheist so we can't have prayer in schools. NOW we have our kids getting killed at school! Way to go! Should prayer be mandatory in school? No, because not everybody believes the same thing. But what is wrong with 2 minutes of silence so that the children can pray to whatever God they want and the atheists can shut up! 2 minutes a day! Then there is the tree huggers... Oh, we can't have logging, it is destroying the forests! Ok, so NOW we have these forest fires that burn half the state... yeah, way to save the trees! Can't talk special interests without the ACLU! Now, the only racists are white people, and the criminals have more rights than the rest of us!

EDUCATION
Education, at least the way I understand it, is "Here's ALL the information we have, now what do you think?" Nope, apparently that is wrong too. Apparently education is "Here is what we want you to know, and unless you want to be labeled an extremist, just go with the flow." Children aren't taught HOW to think, and they wonder why our math and science skills are behind the rest of the world?

RESPECT
Or lack there of... Our VETERANS give their lives for our freedom that the gov't is taking away one step at a time. These people are HEROES, at least they are mine. Not celebrities, not entertainers, not football players. We need to stop worshiping people who haven't earned it!

FREEDOM
What's that? I KNOW if we continue on this road, our children will not know freedom. Even my generation hasn't experienced the freedom of my parents' generation. Our kids won't even know that freedom is something to fight for. We cannot let that happen. Come to think of it, I don't recall learning the Constitution when I was in school... at least we still said the Pledge. We are at the point that SOME of us are starting to wake up, I know I for one, am much more involved... and now they want to take away our guns... the ONE thing that was put into the Constitution for when everything else fails, they are coming after our right to defend ourselves. NO! ENOUGH IS ENOUGH! My biggest pet peeve is when somebody tells me that "it'll never happen." Hello! It already IS! I still find it hard to believe people are that ignorant. Of course they can't do it all at once, they aren't stupid, the gov't knows that! But here we are with an "assault weapon" ban that is about to happen, and the U.N. Gun Ban Treaty that the President WILL sign this time, as long as his next scandal doesn't blow up in his face... it isn't coming, it is here! THEY BANNED LARGE COKES, what makes people think they can't {try} to take our guns?!

OUR CHILDREN
Parents aren't supposed to spank their children because that is "abuse." Let me tell you, there is a HUGE difference between PARENTING and ABUSE. So now these kids are medicated to the hilt because they're uncontrollable. And they wonder why the war on drugs is such a joke?! Not to mention all the celebrities these kids idolize that die of DRUG overdoses... Of course we have mass murderers and so many violent criminals, these kids grow up without learning an ounce of respect for anything! How can they be expected to value human life when they have never had to face a consequence in their entire lives?! High school students skip school, that is a FACT, but do they get in trouble? Nope, now they send the parents to jail! Oh, the kid that ditched class gets suspended... umm.... yeah, that's logical. Why can't they spend that 3 days in jail, and see what happens?! So now our children have lost their freedom of religion while at school, but abortions are no problem and they don't even have to tell the parents, God forbid they drink too much coke though. Awesome.

ECONOMY
We have given the government control of the money, Social Security, taxes, healthcare, and the list goes on! when they can't even make a profit running a brothel and selling alcohol!? It isn't rocket science, my 5 year old can do basic addition and subtraction, maybe I should have him explain that to them. Now our country is bankrupt, they can't cut spending, because that would be too easy, so guess what that means!!! More taxes!!! Yay!

And they wonder what the hell is wrong with our country?!

Ok, I got it out. I don't feel much better, but I think I relieved some of the mounting pressure on my brain...

Liberty or Life Sentence?

I'm not sure what part of "shall not be infringed" is so hard to understand.

The Second Amendment has always been close to my heart, even before I cared too much about politics. I have always understood this is the freedom to defend all the others. I have also been aware for years that it is under attack. Every election I hold my breath and hope for the best that people vote for freedom. The last two presidential elections did not go so well. Now, due to recent events, I am gravely concerned that one of my worst fears is about to become reality.

Gun control advocates didn't skip a beat and now they are coming full force for our guns. For lack of a better term, shit just got real.

The problems we are facing:
              United Nations Gun Ban Treaty
              Renewed "assault weapons" ban
A President who is the definition of "power corrupts"
A Supreme Court that is leaning farther and farther away from the Constitution
People who are opinionated, yet grossly uneducated in the facts
Media that gets their paychecks from the Gov't
           ...and the list goes on...

Here is my problem with gun control. It isn't about the guns. It IS about control. Our economy is in the tank, our national debt is skyrocketing with no end in sight. Washington is FULL of politicians who care about nothing except themselves. Our society has become lazy, irresponsible, anti-capitalist, uneducated, spoiled brats. Now the rest of us are in the fight of our lives to protect and defend the very values this country was founded upon because the government wants to control every aspect of our lives "for our own good." And people believe this crap!

This is ridiculous. It is time to wake up. I don't tell everybody that I want my country back, because I have nothing better to do. I want my country back because GOOD people have given their lives for my freedom and something that comes with that kind of price tag is invaluable. It is something to be treasured!

I understand that times have changed, I understand that as a society, values have shifted, but have they shifted so far that freedom is no longer important? Is a government handout worth your freedom?

People generally follow laws because they don't want to go to prison. What people aren't realizing is that the government is already incarcerating them. With every freedom restricting law that is passed, with every dollar spend that we don't have, with every new or raised tax, we are taking a step away from liberty and heading straight towards a lifetime sentence.

Do I need an AK-47? No, but I have the right to own one if I want! Does everybody need to own a gun of any kind? No, so they aren't forced to buy one. It works both ways. How would all those gun-ban socialists feel if we FORCED them to keep a loaded gun in their house at all times with no safety mechanism? What would they say? How hard would they fight?

We HAVE to fight for our Constitution! We have to start with the Second Amendment or we won't have anything left to fight for! We don't have another 4 years to wait and see what happens next. The time is NOW! There isn't any more "on the fence" stances on this. You are either Pro Liberty or Pro Incarceration.

I am ready, are you? You need to ask yourself how far are you willing to go and be ready and willing to go the distance because the test isn't coming, it's here.

Divided, We Fall

I have been doing a lot of soul searching and talking to as many people as possible lately. I truly believe there is something we can do to get our country back on track. There is more than just writing to our elected officials. I am still waiting for that moment when I have some awesome idea, but I do think I understand our biggest obstacle.

I am very conservative in my political views. I am guilty of the "liberal bashing". I think everybody has the right to be opinionated, but I think those opinions need to have some substance, maybe facts to back them up?

Here is the number one reason our country is going to fail if we do not change it: We are divided. When did our country become right vs. left? That is not what our founding fathers wanted, they wanted One Nation, with We the People. We have become "we the people" and "we the other people". My mom pointed it out during the presidential debates this year. Obama's entire speech was "us" and "them". THIS is the problem.

As much as I think Obama is horrible for our country, we need to take responsibility. We put him in the White House. Twice. Yes, I know this election was stolen, I did not vote for him, I know most of the people reading this did not vote for him. But what did we do to open people's eyes? I complained and I argued my points, but I didn't truly try to get to the bottom of things. And while I really wanted Romney to beat Obama, Romney wasn't my first choice for president either, he was the lesser of two evils. I had discussions with Libertarian friends on that subject and I agreed with their views to vote for other candidates, I felt like I needed to vote for Romney to defeat Obama. Either way, that is all over. Now it is time to move forward. We need to make changes BEFORE the next election, not 6 months before the next election, we need to take action now.

I will be writing to congress on the issues that are most important to me. I encourage everybody to do the same. I will be writing to Hollywood and the media to stop glorifying violence. I encourage everybody to do the same. I think the electoral college needs to be changed. I personally, don't see a need for it anymore. I think it served its purpose before the technology was there, but I think it is out dated.

My biggest problem with politics is the 2 party system. I do not agree with either side 100%. I do not understand why we have 50 candidates for Miss America and 2 for the most powerful person in the world? That doesn't seem logical. Maybe we don't need 50, but perhaps 4 choices?

I thought this country was meant to be "we the people," but how is that possible if only the rich and famous can run for office? I want an average (intelligent) American to represent me. I want the same for congress. When did politics become a career? After 10 or 20 years in Washington, how can those people claim to have OUR best interests in mind? They can't relate to us! I want POLITICAL REFORM, and I think everything else will fall into place.

Congress should not be able to exempt themselves from ANY law they pass for the American people. PERIOD. Congress should not be able to vote for their own raises. PERIOD.

If these changes are ever going to happen, we have to stop playing the "us" vs. "them" game. This is our freedom at stake. This is our way of life, people have fought and died for us! It is time we honor their sacrifices and stand up, united, as one nation. "We the people" doesn't mean right or left, it means, we the people, as in ALL of us. Lets put some of the smaller differences aside and come together for the good of all of us and reform the biggest failure in this country, the politicians. The government has no reason to care what any American wants, because we are so divided that they do not take us seriously. We are all so busy worried about our agendas, that there aren't enough people noticing that Washington has their own agenda.

United we stand, divided we fall.

Different American Dreams

You know, the funny thing is, I am not anti-government. I believe government is extremely important. I just believe there is a difference in between a socialist government and a capitalist government.

I believe a government that is big enough to give you everything you want is big enough to take away everything you have. I think that is a quote but I'm not sure from who... (I'll look for it)

I was taught from a very early age that nothing in this world is free. I was also taught in the American dream. Apparently there are different versions of the American dream...

They way I understand it:
We live in the land of the free. We are free to think what we want, say what we want and be what we want. We can dream to be anything our imagination is capable of, but the bigger the dream, the more work it will require. The only limits I have are the ones I impose on myself.

The way others understand it:
I deserve everything he has. He worked to make his dream a reality but his dream was so big that he has to share it with me.
__________

I think I just answered my own question... It is a difference in dreams! Some of us dream about things that money can't buy and some of us don't.

It's about satisfaction.

I am satisfied with things that I accomplish. A successful hunt, watching my son learn to hunt. A scrapbook that I made, a job well done.

Other people dream about money. Yes, it is that simple. They don't have any sense of pride because it isn't important to them. They want money and the things money can buy. They don't take pride in anything so it isn't logical for them to earn the money, they want it given to them. They don't care how they get it, they just want the money and they are willing to do anything to get it as long as they don't have to work for it themselves.

I think this country's problems just became a little more clear...

WTF?!

Ok, so I guess I am a little bit confused...

I don't even know where to start!? Just when I start to think maybe I am becoming a little bit paranoid something new comes up and reaffirms my paranoia.

SINCE WHEN is it acceptable to live off of gov't handouts permanently?
SINCE WHEN is it acceptable to not want a better life?
SINCE WHEN is it NOT acceptable to become a successful business person?
WHEN did earning a living become evil or racist or radical?!
WHEN did it become the taxpayers' job to give our hard earned money to the lazy people?
HOW is it "open minded" and "accepting" to ban the mention of God or anything related to Christianity? Correct me if I'm wrong, but this country was founded on Christian principals and acceptance of religious freedom?
WHEN and WHO decided a government check was worth trading in our freedom?
WHEN did celebrities become more important and more influential than anything else?
WHO redefined equality to mean the same? 2+2=4 and 3+1=4. They are EQUAL but they are NOT the SAME! Is that clear?

I didn't grow up in a very religious house, but we are believers and I have always had a relationship with God. I don't push that on anybody, I don't like anybody pushing their religious beliefs on me, but I don't find things offensive just because I disagree!

I never agreed to any of this! I have faith that we will pull through and eventually get our country back, but when? How long is it going to take for enough people to realize the dangerous road we are on? How bad does it have to get? How bad is it going to get? Unfortunately I think I already know the answers to those questions and I pray every day that I am wrong.

Maybe I am crazy. Maybe I am an "extremist". Maybe I do lean a little to far to the right, but I truly don't believe that. I refuse to back down. I refuse to lose faith in the America I am proud to be part of. I am unable to shut my mouth. I AM going to make a difference. I will NOT give up. I am not doing this for me. I am doing this for a future for my son. I am doing this for my nieces and nephews. I am doing this because there are people who are willing to sacrifice, who have sacrificed their lives so that we can be free. Those sacrifices will not be in vain.

We will get our country back.

On a mission!

It has been a while, but I am back!

This post isn't about anything specific except that I have been brainstorming all evening with a good friend and we are very committed to keeping America great. It is time to get organized!

We have started a book club, we plan to educate ourselves with a book a month.

We will have a theme each month about promoting a specific issue.

We are still working out the details but our mission is to grow our cause and raise awareness and to MAKE A DIFFERENCE.

We are completely open to ideas, so please share your thoughts!

We are still brainstorming, but it is time to re-unite our country and educate the public. We have to start now to we are ready for the next election.

I am very excited because I have felt so helpless, I no longer feel that way. I am working on a plan.

I will get my country back!

It is discrimination, and I am SICK of it!

Here is one that I have heard enough of in recent months to make me lose my lunch.

I swear, one of my biggest pet peeves is being called racist just because I don't like somebody (like Obama?) that just so happens to be different than me. I don't dislike him because he is black (he is half white, you know) I dislike him because he is a compulsive liar and/or completely incompetent!

Ok, first things first, I am not going to refer to him as an "african-american", if I am white, then he is black.(I have never referred to myself as "anglo.") If that is going to offend you then just stop reading right now. PLEASE!

I have issues with this whole "politically correct" thing. ANY word can be offensive if it is used in a derogitory way. It isn't about what you say, it is about how you say it.

Discrimination works both ways, and I am SICK of people telling me I am racist because there is ONE black guy that I can't stand. I wouldn't like him any more if he were white, or purple! There's a hell of a lot more white people that I dislike! I do not look at people and see the color of their skin, I do not look at people and see their religion, or their gender, or anything else that has NO EFFECT on me. I look at people and all I care about is what is on the inside. Do they have a good heart? Are they trying to do the right thing? Because THAT'S WHAT MATTERS!

I truly believe that special interest groups instigate discrimination as well as the government.

I do not believe that any "special" group of people should be put above another group of people. Isn't that what discrimination is?

Example: Scholarships - they have scholarships for women, Asians, TEEN MOMS, African-Americans, Native-Americans, Hispanics, etc.

I'm sorry, but am I the only one who thinks it is wrong that white guys can't have an "Anglo-American" scholarship? Why are they left out? Because they aren't a minority? That isn't their fault! Now, I am not saying that white guys can't get a scholarship, of course they can, but how much money is set aside for "minorities"? It isn't anybody's fault what color they were born, so why the special treatment? I live in New Mexico and I see cars all the time sporting "brown pride" but God forbid I even mention "white pride" and all of a sudden I am a member of the KKK. (Not that I would ever put that on my car! - Redneck pride, maybe!) But this is exactly the type of double standard that perpetuates racism and gender discrimination and the list goes on. How about, the person with the best academic scores gets first choice, and it goes down the line like that?

What is wrong with just being an AMERICAN? That's how I identify myself, I refuse to fill out the section of any form that asks for what type of "American" I am. How about a space for RED BLOODED AMERICAN?! Why not differenciate things that matter like:

Hard working American vs. Too lazy to work
or
I can pay for this service vs. everybody else is gonna pay for this service

The only "special interest" group I believe SHOULD receive special "entitlements" is our VETERANS! They've earned it! They should be first in line to receive health care or any other assistance they may need. I cannot stress it enough that they are my heroes. Their sacrifices affect my daily life and their debts can never be repaid.

What happened to us all being created equal? We aren't equal if there's special things for this and that...

Now, I feel the need to put a disclaimer that I am not at any point in this article referring to people that can NOT work, or people with special needs, elderly, etc. That's different!

Ok, venting is done for the night, at least until I hear about the next thing that is going to raise my blood pressure to boiling point...

Hot Topic: Abortion

We are all asking how it was even possible that the right lost the election.

Besides the OBVIOUS voter fraud that took place, I have some thoughts...

The problem with this country isn't conflicting beliefs, it's pushing one side's beliefs onto the people on the other side. BOTH sides are guilty of this. I typically try to avoid being in the center of the abortion topic because I am not an expert on the biology of it but here you go, these are my thoughts on it.

Abortion:
I am against abortion. I believe it is wrong. However, I do not think it is Washington's place to tell me that I cannot have one. Now, honestly, I have not done a lot of research on human development inside the womb. I know there is a heartbeat very soon. Are there feelings though? When do the nerves develop? That is something I really don't know, but based on the assumption it isn't in the first trimester and the brain at that point cannot feel pain, then I think it should be a woman's choice. I am vehemently against abortion past 12 weeks. We can argue and argue about it being wrong to kill a baby but the problem is more complicated than that, I believe.

First, the government having a say in what happens in my uterus is concerning because it isn't Uncle Sam's business. Not everybody agrees about "when life begins" therefore, while I agree with my fellow conservatives, I don't think the government should get involved. This is how we are losing our freedoms to the politicians, they aren't minding their own business. And yes, "it's not just your body" when you are pregnant, but your body is directly affected. Let me pose a question, if a woman has an abortion, how does that affect you? You are not the father, in fact you don't even know this woman. If you don't know her, you probably wouldn't even know if she had one, right? Do you know WHY she had one? Was she at risk of life and death? Was there a problem where the child was not going to have a quality life? Was she raped? Do those things make a difference? This is why I believe the government should stay out of it. On that note, I believe in religious freedom, and I am vehemently against forcing people to provide contraceptives to others when that goes directly against their beliefs.

Second, the fact that women consider abortion as their own selfish way of dealing with a situation (assuming they just don't want a baby) they consider a problem is bigger than abortion. THIS IS society's problem. It's a lack of or skewed morals. We need to teach right and wrong from infancy. We need to teach our children about consequences and how to handle life when it doesn't go as planned. We need to do our best to instill a good moral code within our communities. We need can (for the most part) avoid the issue of abortion before it becomes an issue at all.

One of my favorite sayings is that, "The differene between conservatives and liberals is this, if a conservative doesn't like guns, they don't own one. If a liberal doesn't like guns, he doesn't want ANYBODY to own one." While I wholeheartedly agree with that statement, I don't want any lib coming back at me with the same statement on a different subject.

You don't have to agree with me, these are my views, however I think we need to take a step back and see the other points of view. Am I crazy? Is this completely unreasonable?

Yes, politics affect me

Growing up, I always knew I was lucky. I had two hard working parents. They encouraged me to be who I wanted to be, they taught me to question everything I hear, they taught me character. They taught me about freedom. They were strict and though I didn't always agree with them, I thought I understood their rules were because they loved me. As an adult and a mother, I grossly underestimated them. I don't recall too many specific instances where these values were discussed but I know they made me who I am today and for that I am eternally thankful.

I always knew that I felt passionately about the people that protect us and keep us safe. I have always been passionate about the freedoms we enjoy in this country. I never felt passionately about politics though. I just always knew that politicians as a whole are not trustworthy. Then I lived through September 11, 2001 and the bubble that I lived in was gone. I started paying attention. I never realized how much people in OTHER parts of the world affect me. It saddens me when I hear people say that politics don't affect them or that they aren't "into" politics. HOW? That clean water you drink, that paycheck you get, that opinion you just voiced to the whole world, that car you drive, every part of our daily lives are affected by politics in one way or another. I have known that for years now, but until recently, I never realized how passionate I am about it.

This is why I am a right wing conservative:

I believe in helping those who are in need, but I believe there is a difference in UNABLE and UNWILLING
I believe we reap what we sew. If you WANT it, you should EARN it.
I believe in work hard, play hard, not play hard and hardly work.
I don't consider myself religious, but I have Christian values, like the 10 Commandments. I believe in God and I talk to him often.
I believe in, and will defend, freedom. That means freedom for everybody.
I believe freedom should not an excuse for ignorance. Freedom of speech does not give you the right to be disrespectful, for example.
I believe that veterans should be first in line to receive "entitlements" as they have earned them and if there were no veterans, there would be no freedom or entitlements.
I believe children should be taught HOW to think for themselves.
I believe children should be disciplined to they learn consequences.
I believe success should be REWARDED.
I believe we are all equal, but we are not all the same.
I believe criminals should be treated as such.
I believe I have not only the right, but the OBLIGATION to protect myself and my family from harm.
I believe in the pursuit of happiness, it's not a given.
I believe people should grow into productive members of society.
I believe in capitalism and the free market.
I believe that people can disagree and still respect each other if both sides are LOGICAL, but if you are unable to back up your argument, then don't question mine.

If this makes me an "extremist" then so be it. Let them label me however they want. After all, if you don't have any enemies, you've probably never stood up for anything.

In Their Shoes

I was reading some Facebook posts this morning and something jogged my memory from years ago...

After September 11, 2001, terrorism became a topic of frequent discussion in my world. I began to really learn about other parts of the world, other cultures, and America's place in world politics. I began learning about terrorism and why they attacked us. I followed reports of HOW they did it.

I was also living in a post-Columbine world and we would have practice drills at school. I would discuss with my friends my thoughts on how people might "attack" the school. My friends would ask if I was planning to blow it up and I always made myself clear that NO, I wasn't planning but you never know what somebody else might be planning and I try to put myself in the "bad guy's" shoes so that I could be as prepared as possible. That's just how I think. I spend a lot of my free time studying criminal behavior and learning to understand how people think and why they do things a certain way.

Anyways, today I remembered reading and hearing reports that the terrorists that had attacked us on Sept. 11, had lived in the United States for years, that these people were raised with a sole purpose of bringing America to her knees. These organizations are extremely patient. So, I tried to put myself in their shoes...

WHAT IF: The "higher ups" in these terrorist cells, or anti-American people had people living in America, the land of the free, and had babies in America? These babies would be American citizens. These children would be raised to HATE America and her people. Their true allegiance would be to their parents' affiliations. WHAT IF these people grew up with a sole purpose to do their part in bringing America down? They wouldn't believe in freedom or our republic. They believe we are evil and should be ruled by somebody else. What if these children grew into adulthood with the financial backing to get the best education in the best schools? What if they infiltrated our political system?

Now, I will be the first to admit our political system is flawed. It is not perfect, just as people are not. I will say that there has been corruption dating back for decades, because power corrupts. But I believe there is a difference in corrupted officials being shady and elected officials who hate everything America stands for....

Yes, maybe I am crazy, I won't say that isn't possible, or maybe I am just trying to prepare for the worst while I hope for the best..

Just wanted to share some thoughts, I will let you come to your own conclusions on this one...

Conflicting beliefs & Equality

I think everybody is entitled to their own beliefs, i.e. views on abortion or the death penalty... HOWEVER, please explain to me the logic that abortion is okay, while the death penalty is wrong?

I am a FIRM believer in the death penalty. The truth is, there are people in this world that are just evil. As a whole, we don't like to believe that but its there. Evil is all around us. That is a fact, and opinions cannot change it. Evil exists. How, or why can be debated but it still exists.

My problem, is when people have these beliefs that are contradictory. If you don't believe in abortion, fine. If you don't believe in the death penalty, fine. If you believe in both, fine. But how can you believe abortion is perfectly okay "because its your body" and in the next breath protest the death penalty for people that tortured or murdered another person WITHOUT a doubt?!!

Somebody PLEASE explain that "logic" to me!

These same people are the ones that won't let us chop down a few trees, but abortion is okay. These people claim to be open minded but only when it is convenient for them. You can burn a bible or an AMERICAN flag and claim your first amendment right to free speech, but if you burn a quran, you're a racist.

And if you don't like what America stands for, fine. But I take issue with defending people who actively try to hurt me, or my country because we believe in freedom.

Equality. I think people have lost sight of what equality is. I believe all people were created equal. That does not mean all people were created the same. I am not a football player, nor could I ever be. That does not make me better than, or lesser than a football player. That same football player has his own weaknesses. We are different, but still equal. We need both. We need to support others' strengths to make up for our own weaknesses.

We aren't meant to all be the same. A lot of those differences in "equality" come from differences in effort. You do not have a right to resent the rich guy who worked his ass off when you are too lazy to work or too "good" to sweep floors. And his success gives him the ability to hire people that are still climbing the ladder to their own success. Don't resent him for that, thank him for it. If my bosses did not work their asses off for years and get their advanced degrees and work 60+ hours a week for years on end, I would not have a job that supports my family and puts food on the table. I do not resent the fact they make tons of money, I thank them for giving a stepping stone.

Words of Wisdom

This was sent to me and I have to say I agree. We can only blame the president so much. The problem is deeper, it's the people. If we want our country back, we have to change the way "we, the people" think.

Some people have the vocabulary to sum up things in a way that you can
quickly understand them. This quote came from the Czech Republic . Someone
over there has it figured out. It was translated into English from an article
in the Prague newspaper, PragerZeitungon.

"The danger to America is not Barack Obama, but a citizenry capable of
entrusting a man like him with the Presidency. It will be far easier to limit
and undo the follies of an Obama presidency than to restore the necessary
common sense and good judgment to a depraved electorate willing to have such
a man for their president. The problem is much deeper and far more serious
than Mr. Obama, who is a mere symptom of what ails America . Blaming the
prince of fools should not blind anyone to the vast confederacy of fools
that made him their prince. The Republic can survive a Barack Obama, who is,
after all, merely a fool. It is less likely to survive a multitude of fools,
such as those who made him their President."

Getting back to our roots

Obama promised change. Well, guess that's a prime example of "careful what you wish for" because he sure is changing things... I do however, think there is a difference between "change" and "corruption"... I think the latter is the word he was looking for.

I didn't start this blog to just complain. I started it as a place to vent, but I also truly believe in a cause. I want  REAL change. I want a government that is truly for the people, to make the greatest country on earth even greater.

We all know how I feel about the current administration but the problems we are facing are deeper than that. It's much bigger than Obama. Is he a threat to our freedom? Certainly. But "we, the people" put him in the White House.

Would Romney have been a better choice? YEAH! Especially given our current economic crisis. But Romney isn't my first choice. I don't want a politician running my country. I want a choice. We have got to take our country back before we lose all of our freedom and our government gets too big to fight.

My question is what can we do? How do we go about a complete makeover? The congress is supposed to be made up of citizens like you and me. It, like welfare, wasn't meant to be a career. We need fresh eyes, fresh ideas in Washington.

We can complain and yell all we want, but how much is that REALLY going to accomplish?

I think we need to band together as a single group and lobby for our beliefs. We need to get OUR candidate in the running. Somebody who has a REAL chance to win. No democrat/republican stuff, just a true patriot who believes in the Constitution and will fight for freedom for the people. And we need to start now so that we can be ready when the time comes in 4 years.

Thoughts?

Please don't forget those who fight for our freedom this Thanksgiving

This one is in honor of Thanksgiving...

I have been so blessed, I don't even know where to begin. But I will say I can sum it up into a few basic things: God, Country and Family.

I am not an overly religious person, but I am a believer. I talk to Him on a daily basis and we are very close. I don't believe church is a requirement to have a close relationship with God. And through these tough times, I know He will help me find my way. I am thankful to Him every day for all of my blessings.

My country. I love my country. I thank my lucky stars that I was born in the greatest country this would will ever see. I am thankful every day for my freedom. I cannot imagine not being free to express my opinions, or protect myself and my family. I cannot imagine raising my son in a country where he isn't free to be anything he wants to be. I will fight tooth and nail to keep our freedoms in tact. My son, my nieces and nephews, they deserve nothing less. Which brings me to the next one...

My family is the greatest family I could ever ask for. I'm not talking about blood relation, my family is ALL the people I hold close in my heart like family. Genetics do not make a family, love and respect do. And I am  so blessed to have such a huge and diverse support system. I do not know where I would be without them. I am thankful that Cohyn, the light and love of my life has so many wonderful role models.

On a final note, which brings these things together, I want to thank our veterans and their families. Without each and every one of our amazing heroes who are willing to give or have given their lives, my life, my son's life, would not be possible. I do not think it is possible to ever express my gratitude towards these amazing people. Below are a few of these people:

Dad
Mr. Patterson
Travis
Rich
Joe
Brandon
Jimmy
Shad
Donnie
Uncle Daniel
Uncle Kenneth
Uncle Skip
Dallas
Patrick
Kevin
Derek
Aaron

Thank you.

The right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed.

"Assault" weapons account for less than 1% of crime in the United States. This is true before, during, and after the passage of the Brady Bill. Therefore, it had NO EFFECT on crime. Why are they pushing to bring the Brady Bill back? Please don't be fooled, this is NOT, nor was it ever, about CRIME, it is about CONTROL. Period. And I dare anybody to try and prove differently. If you are worried about crime, go after the criminals, make the penalties count. Bring back/USE the death penalty. (which is a whole other subject)

What part of "...the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed" is so hard to understand? The founding fathers of this country, OUR founding fathers, left their home country for FREEDOM. Freedom. Our entire foundation of our country was based on a single idea. Freedom. They knew first hand what the government was capable of and made every effort to protect the people of the United States of America from their government. They knew foreign threats could always be made against the people, but they understood that our biggest threat, the only way we could be broken would come from our OWN government. That knowledge was the reasoning behind the first two amendments: Freedom of speech and the right to bear arms. And if you want to argue that point, show me some evidence. I have never seen a quote from the people that wrote the Constitution indicating they felt any different. So jump forward to today and we have a president who "believes in the individual right to bear arms" but not concealed carry, not hand guns, not "assault" weapons, etc. So basically that is his chicken shit way of trying to get around his true feelings. The second amendment was written SPECIFICALLY for self defense. This includes self defense against common criminals, an unjust government, and everything in between.

But to be honest, we cannot fully blame the government. After all, they aren't elected by people of other nations... (for the most part). We really have nobody to blame but ourselves. We let it happen. We let them chip away at our freedoms a little sliver at a time until there's nothing left. Are we going to let it get that far? Are we already there?

We are currently facing a potential "UN Gun Ban Treaty", a president who has no regard for the constitution,  a 5-4 margin in the Supreme Court with at least one justice being replaced within the next couple of years, the re-introduction of the "assault" weapons ban... how bad does it have to get before we stand up and actually DO something?!

I constantly hear about how "the gov't will never take our guns, they couldn't get away with that..." Umm, I can say a lot of things about the powers that be, but stupid isn't one of them. Those who have any knowledge of history, know that Hitler did not get as far as he did overnight either... just some food for thought.

The issue of gun control is very very close to my heart. I would LOVE somebody to explain to me a more effective source of protection for myself and my family.

Our guns are our last line of self defense against enemies foreign and domestic.

FREE HOME!!!

I found this on a Facebook post on my page and I had to share!

FREE HOME FOR ANYONE WHO WILL TAKE IT!

I was in my neighborhood restaurant this morning and was seated behind a group of jubilant individuals celebrating the successful passing of the recent health care bill. I could not finish my breakfast. This is what ensued:

They were a diverse group of several races and both sexes. I heard the young man exclaim, “Isn’t Obama like Jesus Christ? I mean, after all, he is healing the sick.” The young woman enthusiastically proclaimed, “Yeah, and he does it for free. I cannot believe anyone would think that a free market would work for health care. Another said, ‘The stupid Republicans want us all to starve to death so they can inherit all of the power. Obama should be made a Saint for what he did for those of us less fortunate.” At this, I had more than enough.

I arose from my seat, mustering all the restraint I could find, and approached their table. “Please excuse me; may I impose upon you for one moment?” They smiled and welcomed me to the conversation. I stood at the end of their table, smiled as best I could and began an experiment.

“I would like to give one of you my house. It will cost you no money and I will pay all of the expenses and taxes for as long as you live there. Anyone interested?” They looked at each other in astonishment. “Why would you do something like that?” asked a young man, “There isn’t anything for free in this world.” They began to laugh at me, as they did not realize this man had just made my point. “I am serious, I will give you my house for free, no money what so ever. Anyone interested?” In unison, a resounding “Hell Yeah” fills the room.

“Since there are too many of you, I will have to make a choice as to who receives this money-free bargain.” I noticed an elderly couple was paying attention to the spectacle unfolding before their eyes, the old man shaking his head in apparent disgust. “I tell you what; I will give it to the one of you most willing to obey my rules.” Again, they looked at one another, an expression of bewilderment on their faces. The perky young woman asked, “What are the rules?” I smiled and said, “I don’t know. I have not yet defined them. However, it is a free home that I offer you.” They giggled amongst themselves, the youngest of which said, “What an old coot. He must be crazy to give away his home. Go take your meds, old man.” I smiled and leaned into the table a bit further. “I am serious, this is a legitimate offer.” They gaped at me for a moment.

“I’ll take it you old fool. Where are the keys?” boasted the youngest among them. “Then I presume you accept ALL of my terms then?” I asked.. The elderly couple seemed amused and entertained as they watched from the privacy of their table. “Oh hell yeah! Where do I sign up?” I took a napkin and wrote, “I give this man my home, without the burden of financial obligation, so long as he accepts and abides by the terms that I shall set forth upon consummation of this transaction.” I signed it and handed it to the young man who eagerly scratched out his signature. “Where are the keys to my new house?” he asked in a mocking tone of voice. All eyes were upon us as I stepped back from the table, pulling the keys from pocket and dangling them before the excited new homeowner.

“Now that we have entered into this binding contract, witnessed by all of your friends, I have decided upon the conditions you are obligated to adhere from this point forward. You may only live in the house for one hour a day. You will not use anything inside of the home. You will obey me without question or resistance. I expect complete loyalty and admiration for this gift I bestow upon you. You will accept my commands and wishes with enthusiasm, no matter the nature. Your morals and principles shall be as mine. You will vote as I do, think as I do and do it with blind faith. These are my terms. Here are your keys.” I reached the keys forward and the young man looked at me dumbfounded.

“Are you out of your mind? Who would ever agree to those ridiculous terms?” the young man appeared irritated. “You did when you signed this contract before reading it, understanding it and with the full knowledge that I would provide my conditions only after you committed to the agreement.” Was all I said. The elderly man chuckled as his wife tried to restrain him. I was looking at a now silenced and bewildered group of people. “You can shove that stupid deal up you’re a** old man, I want no part of it” exclaimed the now infuriated young man. “You have committed to the contract, as witnessed by all of your friends; you cannot get out of the deal unless I agree to it. I do not intend to let you free now that I have you ensnared. I am the power you agreed to. I am the one you blindly and without thought chose to enslave yourself to. In short, I am your Master.” At this, the table of celebrating individuals became a unified group against the unfairness of the deal.

After a few moments of unrepeatable comments and slurs, I revealed my true intent. “What I did to you is what this administration and congress did to you with the health care legislation. I easily suckered you in and then revealed the real cost of the bargain. Your folly was in the belief that you can have something you did not earn; that you are entitled to that which you did not earn; that you willingly allowed someone else to think for you. Your failure to research, study and inform yourself permitted reason to escape you. You have entered into a trap from which you cannot flee. Your only chance of freedom is if your new Master gives it to you. A freedom that is given can also be taken away; therefore, it is not freedom.” With that, I tore up the napkin and placed it before the astonished young man. “This is the nature of your new health care legislation.”

I turned away to leave these few in thought and contemplation and was surprised by applause. The elderly gentleman, who was clearly entertained, shook my hand enthusiastically and said, “Thank you Sir, these kids don’t understand Liberty these days.” He refused to allow me to pay my bill as he said, “You earned this one, it is an honor to pickup the tab.” I shook his hand in thanks, leaving the restaurant somewhat humbled, and sensing a glimmer of hope for my beloved country.

I want it back.

I guess I will start with the title of the page. I want my country back! I am sick of what the special interest groups and politicians have made of this beautiful country I call home. I don't even know where to start. I was raised to work hard and earn what I have. I was raised to be a productive member of society. It is in my blood. That's who I am. I am tired of paying for the lazy, ungrateful takers that are taking over my country. Welfare is a temporary solution to help Americans facing hard times. IT WAS NEVER MEANT TO BE A CAREER CHOICE! The tax dollars that go to the lazy should be going to the elderly, the sick, and the VETERANS who fought for your right to be lazy! I am tired of the government telling me what is best for me. I am tired of the politicians declaring war on my freedom. I am tired of the disrespect to our veterans. Those people have fought and many have died for freedom. I HATE that people hide behind freedom of speech to be so arrogant. I am tired of people making decisions about things they clearly do not understand! I don't have a lot of opinion on foreign policy, know why? Because I don't know anything about it! I have opinions on taxes and the economy because I have worked in business my entire adult life and I know enough to know what I don't know! In the words of Charlie Daniels, what this would needs is a few more rednecks. People not afraid to take a stand. We need a little more respect for the Lord the Law and the WORKING man.

Guess that's all for now, because unlike too many people in this country, I have responsibilities to tend to..,

Here ya go Jenn! You gotta help me with this blog thing! :)
